Cult / religious scam

May God Himself help you if you're a new attendee here. A portly woman with a name tag, who appeared to be in her fifties, cross-examined me thoroughly [ with a toothy grin, of course ] before I was permitted to find a seat. Thereafter, her white-haired husband [ whom she had described as wearing a concealed firearm ] hovered directly behind me [ I sat in the very back row ] and uncomfortably near me for the clear majority of the morning "service". They had apparently encouraged a female Police Officer to do the same. Disclaimer: I have an extraordinarily clean record and have been previously awarded a TS-SBI clearance, while holding two separate security clearances currently, so I'm not accustomed to being ominously "menaced". I was subsequently informed later that day, that this particular Sunday Morning "service" may have more closely resembled an AA recovery meeting, because the speaker was a guitarist for them and he described ad nauseum how he had gradually given up alcohol so that he could become a nice narcissist with a loving attitude instead of being just an ordinary, self-serving narcissist with an aggressively offensive attitude routinely harming his loved ones and family. Overall Impression: Other than loving themselves at the clear expense of others. many of these cultish/church members have comparatively little knowledge of the scriptures and of what a genuinely, sincere Christian belief entails. The septuagenarian "goon with a concealed handgun" probably feels moderately superior to the attendees who are blissfully unaware of what an extreme danger he is to himself and to others; a glorified buffoon with a part in the play and a place in the circus. None of this matters, however, because it's apparently all about feeling good for the moment....and about putting something in the offering basket. Last year, their annual report stated that they apparently took in over a million tax-free dollars [ ie, over $1,000,000 ] in their offering baskets from the Maine public. 'Seems like the Maine Dept of Revenue might do well to take a closer look at this fact. If you attend a service here, for your own well-being, please "Watch your back, Watch your back and then Watch your back some more" ........snakes, weasels and *** lizards are no longer confined to Florida alone.

Being "warm and fuzzy" earned them an offering last year of more than a million tax-free dollars. [ according to their church bulletin ] Shouldn't the Maine Dept of Revenue know about this fact?
